Recipe FAQs
Can You Air Fry Arby’s Curly Fries?
Yes, you can absolutely air fry Arby’s curly fries. No additional oil is needed for cooking, making it healthier when compared to deep frying. You’ll get the same crunchy exterior and hot, soft interior on your fries.
When cooking the frozen version, there is no need to defrost in advance.
How Long to Cook Frozen Arby’s Curly Fries in an Air Fryer?
On average, it takes between 8-12 minutes to cook frozen Arby’s curly fries in an air fryer. The exact time will vary based on your specific air fryer, how much you’re cooking, and your desired level of crispiness.
To ensure best results, an instant read thermometer should show at 165°F in the middle of the fry to consider them done.
Why Are My Frozen French Fries Soggy in the Air Fryer?
Generally, soggy curly fries occur when too much moisture is present. This can be caused by cooking at too low of a temperature, overcrowding the basket, and not shaking or stirring the food during cooking.
It’s important to cook at high heat, not block air circulation, and to ensure that you flip foods so the heating is even. This will ensure that you are not causing soggy spots to form.
How Do You Cook Frozen Curly Fries in the Oven?
You cook frozen curly fries in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 425°F, depending on if you’re using a half or full bag. They should be spread in a single layer on a large baking sheet, and flipped halfway through cooking.
As you’ll notice, the oven takes double the time or more when compared to preparation in the air fryer.
Tips For the Best Frozen Curly Fries
- You do not need to add any olive oil before cooking. The fries already have some added before freezing. In fact, for an oven air fryer, make sure the drip pan is in, as they will give off some oil during cooking
- I have an 8-qt Ninja Dual Zone air fryer and can fit about 9 oz of fries comfortably in each basket, for 18 ounces total at a time. Cook in batches if needed based on desired amount of fries and size of air fryer
- My fries were fully cooked after 8 minutes, verified via instant read thermometer. I left them in an extra 2 minutes for more crispiness. Other air fryers may vary slightly in terms of needed time

Storage and Reheating
- Store any leftover curly fries in the refrigerator in a sealed bag or container for up to 5 days. Do not refreeze once they have been cooked
- To reheat, place cold curly fries in the air fryer for 4-6 minutes at 350°F, or until warmed through. Make sure to shake the basket once during cooking for even heating. This method works great for restaurant leftovers as well! You can also reheat fries in the microwave, but they’ll lose their crispiness
