Deviled eggs are even easier thanks to hard boiling in your air fryer. They’re creamy, delicious, and perfect as a naturally low carb snack or appetizer.
Place your eggs directly onto the grate in your air fryer’s basket (or on the rack in an oven style) leaving air space between them. Tip: if you have an oven safe trivet, you can use it to help prevent the eggs from rolling around during cooking
6 Large eggs
Cook on the air fry setting at 250°F for 16 minutes. If your air fryer does not go that low, you can use 275°F-280°F for 15 minutes instead, or check other settings. For example, my Ninja Dual Zone has 270°F available on the ‘Reheat’ setting.Important note: Every air fryer varies and there will be some trial and error in getting them perfectly hard boiled. Make an extra test egg to check, until you’re confident in what you need for your particular air fryer
Use tongs or an oven mitt (they will be hot) to transfer the eggs to an ice water bath, and let them sit for 5-10 minutes until they are cool enough to comfortably handle
Peel the eggs by tapping the base end gently against a hard surface until it cracks. Use your fingers to carefully peel the shell away from the rest of the egg
Slice your eggs in half lengthwise using a paring knife (or a similar sharp knife)
Scoop out the yolks into a small bowl using a spoon (or your fingers)
Add the mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, mustard, salt, and pepper to the yolks in the bowl, and then use a fork to mash everything together, breaking up the yolks until a smooth paste forms. Tip: feel free to taste and adjust your seasoning levels as needed
Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg whites, dividing evenly. Then, shake paprika over the top of the eggs (or add other garnishes as desired) and enjoy!

Notes
If you use a different size of eggs or if your eggs are not chilled, cooking times can vary. I recommend making at least one extra egg that you can check as a “tester” (at least until you’ve done it a few times and get comfortable with your specific air fryer).
This recipe is also easy to scale up and down, so feel free to make more or less depending on your needs (each whole egg makes 2 deviled eggs)
You can use all mayo or all Miracle Whip if preferred (or based on what you have). I like the blend so it’s not overly sweet
If you don’t have prepared mustard you can use about ⅛ tsp mustard powder instead. Feel free to sub different types of mustard as well, such as Dijon
Paprika is a classic garnish option, but chives are a good alternative (especially if you want a little green), or everything bagel seasoning is great too!
Other filling additions could include hot sauce, cooked crumbled bacon, or chopped pickles/relish if you’d like!
To dye your eggs add 4 drops of food coloring and 1 cup of water to a bowl. Soak the egg white halves (after removing yolks) for about 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry. This is nice if you want to dye them green for St Patrick’s Day, pastels for Easter, purple for Halloween, etc
It is normal for the eggs shells to come out “spotted” with brown dots after cooking. I’m honestly not sure what causes it, but the egg inside is completely fine, and most times it rinses right off during the ice bath anyway
As I mentioned before, the time to get your eggs hard boiled can vary between air fryers, so you’ll need to do some testing. I have an 8-qt Ninja Dual Zone air fryer and my eggs were perfectly hard boiled after 16 minutes at 270°F without preheating
You can make the eggs up to a day in advance and store in a container in the refrigerator overnight. Then just slice, mix, fill, and serve! It’s a great time saver for holiday gatherings and brunch when you have a lot of other things to do
Store leftover deviled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days
Exact nutritional values will vary based on brand and flavor of ingredients, any garnishes added, and quantity consumed, so please consider this a guideline only
