These air fryer cabbage wedges cook up with crispy brown edges in only about 15 minutes. Season them up any way you like for a simple vegetable side dish anytime!
Lay the cabbage half on a flat surface (cut size down) and cut it into approximately 1” thick wedges (you should get 4-6 depending on the size of your cabbage). I usually cut the center first and then split each side into 2-3 wedges, cutting at an angle to make a wedge shape. Leave the core in for stability
½ Small head green cabbage
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then spread it evenly over both sides of each cabbage wedge (I use a basting brush for this)
2 Tbsp olive oil, 1 Tsp salt, 1 Tsp garlic powder, ½ Tsp black pepper
Place the seasoned cabbage wedges into your air fryer’s basket or rack in a single layer
Cook on the air fry setting at 375°F for 10-15 minutes, until the cabbage is tender-crisp and the edges are browned to your liking (no flipping required)
Finish with garnishes and toppings as desired, and enjoy
1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese, ½ Tbsp fresh parlsey, 1 Tbsp balsamic reduction or glaze
Notes
Round cabbages work best for creating the wedge shape, but you can definitely swap in red or Savoy cabbage instead of green if you like
All seasonings are adjustable to taste, and swappable. Other great seasoning options for cabbage include: Italian seasoning, onion powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, Cajun seasoning, parsley, thyme, chili powder, chives, or dill
Toppings are optional, and also easily swappable to match preferences or the flavors of other dishes you’re serving. Try cooked crumbled bacon, blue cheese or feta cheese, honey, maple syrup, tahini, lemon or lime juice, Dijon mustard, other vinegars, buffalo sauce, or ranch dressing for interesting flavor combinations!
You can also wrap cabbage wedges in bacon before cooking for a bacon wrapped cabbage variation!
This recipe easily doubles or more if you want to feed a crowd or use up the whole cabbage
I cooked my cabbage wedges for about 14 minutes total in my Ninja air fryer, without preheating. Required time can vary slightly between different air fryers, and based on the size of your wedges and desired level of browning, so adjust as needed
Store leftover cabbage wedges in an airtight container or zippered back in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer term storage, freeze for up to 6 months (do not add any toppings to it if you want to do this)
To reheat, air fry cabbage wedges at a reduced temperature of 350°F for about 3 minutes, or until heated through. The time can vary slightly between air fryers and based on the variety and thickness of your cabbage wedges
Exact nutritional values will vary based on brand and variety of ingredients, seasonings and toppings added, size of cabbage, and quantity consumed, so please consider this a guideline only
