This simple spiced pear margarita recipe is ready in just about 5 minutes! It’s perfect for fall and winter entertaining since it’s so easy to make and filled with warm flavor.
(Optional) To rim your glass, combine the sugar and cinnamon on a plate. Dip the edge of the glass in water or run a cut pear or lemon around the outside of the rim to wet it. Then, dip the glass into the sugar cinnamon mixture
2 Tsp granulated sugar, ½ Tsp cinnamon
In a shaker (or mason jar) combine the tequila, triple sec, pear syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon with a few ice cubes
Shake for about 30 seconds, and strain into a margarita glass filled with ice
Garnish with a slice of pear or cinnamon stick if desired and enjoy!
Notes
You can use Cointreau or another orange flavor liquor in place of the triple sec
Lime juice may be used in place of the lemon juice, or prepared sour mix works as well
You can adjust the amount of cinnamon to taste. Feel free to experiment with different warm spices as well, such as ginger, cloves, or allspice!
Any pear syrup works fine. You can also make your own by blending a medium ripe pear (peeled and cored) with 1 Tbsp of water and straining (I think ripe pears are sweet enough to not need to add sugar)
Alternatively, use 1 ½ ounces of a pear brandy or spiced pear liqueur (such as St. George) and 1 ounce of regular or spiced simple syrup!
Garnish ideas include a slice of fresh pear, a piece of candied ginger, or a cinnamon stick
To enjoy a frozen spiced pear margarita, place all the ingredients (including ice cubes) into a blender and blend on high until a slushy consistency is reached. Then, pour into rimmed glasses, garnish, and enjoy!
If you are squeezing your own lemon for juice, I’ve found that 1 medium lemon nets approximately 2 ounces of juice, as a guideline to assist in how many to get if you plan to scale the recipe
To make a larger batch, scale up the recipe to the desired number of servings. You can mix your margaritas in a pitcher up to 72 hours in advance. Then, simply add ice to individual glasses and pour to serve!
Exact nutritional values will vary greatly based on brand and flavor of ingredients, any garnishes or rims added, and actual quantity consumed, so please consider this a guideline only
