Bacon Wrapped Filet in the Air Fryer With Garlic Herb Butter
Bacon wrapped filet in the air fryer comes out incredibly juicy, tender, and delicious! Finish with an amazing garlic herb butter and enjoy with your favorite sides.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (or the closest setting your air fryer has)
Wrap each filet with a slice of bacon, securing it with toothpicks, cooking twine, or silicone bands
4 Filet mignon steaks, 4 Strips bacon
Brush the top and bottom of the filets with olive oil
½ Tbsp olive oil
Apply the steak seasoning to the oiled steaks, pressing it a bit so it sticks
2 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
Place the bacon wrapped filets into the preheated air fryer basket
Cook on the air fry setting for 6 minutes at 375°F
Flip, then cook an additional 3 minutes for medium rare (135°F), 6 minutes for medium (140°F), or 9 minutes for medium well (145°F). Times will vary based on the size and thickness of your specific steaks, so I recommend checking in with a thermometer every couple minutes
While the filets are cooking, in a small bowl, combine the softened butter and the seasonings and mix until everything is well distributed
2 Tbsp butter, salted, 1 Tsp garlic powder, ½ Tsp onion powder, 1 Tsp dried parsley, ¼ Tsp salt
Once steaks are done to your liking, remove them from the basket and let them rest for 5 minutes
Top filets with garlic herb butter, and serve with your favorite sides
Notes
I find that regular (not thick cut) bacon works best for this, but feel free to use what you like. You can even swap in turkey bacon if preferred!
Use any steak seasoning you like (and make sure to add salt and pepper if your blend doesn’t have it)
The garlic and herb compound butter is optional, but adds a nice finishing touch. You can swap in other herbs and seasonings as well if you’d like!
If you want your bacon extra crispy but don’t want your steak well done, pre-cook the bacon by itself for 5 minutes in the air fryer before wrapping it around the filets
You can easily halve or double this recipe for less or more people
My filets were perfect after 12 minutes total in a Ninja Dual air fryer, which was medium well on the thinnest one and medium on the thick ones (as there is natural variation in steak size). They were all incredibly tender and juicy. Other air fryers will vary slightly
Leftover filet may be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. You may also freeze for up to 6 months, but it will lose moisture over time
Reheat bacon wrapped filet in the air fryer for 6-8 minutes at 350°F, turning halfway, or until heated through
Exact nutritional values will vary based on brand and flavor of ingredients, any sauces or sides added, and quantity consumed, so please consider this a guideline only
