Ingredients List

ingredients to make pear spritz
  • 1 ounce vanilla vodka
  • 2 ounces pear juice
  • 2-3 ounces prosecco and/or sparkling water

Ingredient Tips and Substitutions

  • You can also use plain vodka or substitute gin, and add ¼ to ½ ounce vanilla syrup instead. Alternatively, elderflower liqueur (such as St. Germain) makes another good flavor pairing
  • Instead of pear juice, you can swap in pear nectar, or use 1 ounce of pear-flavored liqueur instead
  • Prosecco is sweeter, whereas sparkling water is typically unsweetened, so you can control the levels that way. For sparkling water, use plain, pear, vanilla, lemon, or ginger-flavored options to create different combos
  • I don’t think the drink needs any extra sweetness, but if you want a sweeter drink, honey can be added to taste for the perfect complement

Step By Step Instructions

  1. To a stemless wine glass (or similar), add the pear juice and vodka, and stir to combine

Recipe FAQs

What Alcohol Goes Best With Pear Juice?

Vodka, gin, rum, and sparkling wine all pair well with pear juice. Prosecco is especially good for a light, bubbly spritz.

Can I Make A Mocktail Version?

Absolutely! Skip the alcohol and combine pear juice with sparkling water or nonalcoholic sparkling wine. Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for extra brightness.

Can I Make A Hugo Spritz With Pear?

Yes! Pear makes a delicious seasonal twist on a Hugo Spritz. Use pear juice or pear nectar along with Prosecco, elderflower liqueur, soda water, and fresh mint.

Tips For the Best Pear Spritz

  • You can absolutely adjust strength by using less vodka (or swapping in a liqueur instead), or by adding more juice or sparkling water to cut strength
  • For a sweeter drink, add honey or simple syrup to taste, or some extra juice. For a less sweet drink, opt for unsweetened sparkling water instead of some of the prosecco, or add a little fresh lemon juice to add tartness. I don’t find it overly sweet as is, but drink sweetness is a lot personal preference

Serving and Make Ahead

Serving Tips

  • Serve Well Chilled: Chill the ingredients before mixing and serve over plenty of ice for the most refreshing spritz!
  • Use A Wine Glass: A large wine glass gives the bubbles plenty of room and makes the drink feel extra elegant
  • Serve Immediately: This cocktail is best enjoyed fresh while the bubbles are lively and the flavors are crisp

Make-Ahead Tips

  • Prepare The Base Ahead: Mix the juice and vodka (plus any liqueurs you want to use) several hours ahead and refrigerate until ready to serve
  • Add Sparkling Ingredients Last: Don’t add prosecco or other carbonated ingredients until right before serving to prevent the drink from going flat
  • Batch For A Crowd: Multiply the ingredients and combine the base in a pitcher. Add the sparkling ingredients just before serving
  • Pear Gin Fizz
  • Pear Martini

Final Thoughts

This pear spritz is sweet, bubbly, refreshing, and a perfect fall twist when you want something other than pumpkin or apple! It’s incredibly easy to make, with just 3 ingredients and no fancy equipment needed, making it perfect for entertaining as well.

It’s also a highly customizable cocktail, so you can swap in different liqueurs, carbonated elements, and garnishes to tailor it to your preferences, occasion, or just what you have on hand!
