If you’re looking for an easy, no-bake treat to make for Easter, then you’ll love this mini egg fudge! It takes just minutes to throw together, and then all you need to do is let it set and enjoy. I like to make it in advance, for a festive treat that’s kid and adult friendly, and low stress for me!

What is Mini Egg Fudge?
Mini egg Easter fudge is a rich and creamy fudge made with chocolate (white, milk, or dark) and sweetened condensed milk, featuring crushed or whole Cadbury mini eggs for a festive look and crunch.
It’s a popular Easter treat that combines smooth, melt-in-your-mouth fudge with the crisp, candy-coated chocolate eggs for a delightful texture contrast! It’s also a great way to use up some of those leftover chocolate eggs, which are one of the most popular Easter candies!
This fudge is kid and adult friendly, and perfect for an Easter dessert offering, as gifts, or even in an Easter basket!

Ingredients List

- 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cups chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate; approx 18 ounces)
- 1 cup Cadbury mini eggs (around 7 ounces)
Ingredient Tips and Substitutions
- You can also use white chocolate chips or dark chocolate instead of milk. This will change the overall look and flavor of the fudge, but they’re all delicious!
- The sweetened condensed milk can be substituted by coconut condensed milk for a non-dairy or vegan alternative (though you’d also need non-dairy and/or vegan chocolate substitutes)
- Any brand of mini eggs is fine, but Cadbury is a classic. I recommend cutting about ⅓ of them in half to decorate the top of the fudge. The rest can either be added into the fudge whole, or roughly chopped before adding, which makes the fudge slightly easier to cut later!
Step By Step Instructions
- Line an 8×8 or 9×9 square pan with parchment paper (or similar)
- Add the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk to a large microwave-safe bowl

- Cook on high for 1 minute, stir, and proceed to cook in 15-second increments, stirring between each, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth (it should be fairly thick as well)

- Fold in ⅔ of the mini eggs (either whole, or roughly chopped, whichever you prefer)

- Pour into your prepared pan, smoothing the top out with a spatula if needed. Press the remaining ⅓ cup of the eggs into the top of the fudge (I like to halve them to make them sit more evenly)

- Refrigerate for 3-4 hours until set, then cut into small squares (1” or 2” are typical, but you can do what you prefer). Enjoy!

Pairing Suggestions
Mini egg fudge is a rich and sweet treat, so pairing it with contrasting textures and flavors only makes it better. Here are some of my favorite pairing ideas:
Drinks
- Coffee or Espresso – The bitterness of coffee balances the sweetness of the fudge
- Hot Chocolate – A decadent option for chocolate lovers. Buckeye Hot Chocolate is the perfect choice, or try a Hot Chocolate Espresso Martini for the adults!
- Milk – Classic and refreshing, especially with a chocolate-based fudge
- Chai Tea or Earl Grey – The spices and citrus notes complement the creamy fudge. Try any of my Chai Cocktails for a boozy twist!
- Dessert Wine – A sweet port or late-harvest Riesling pairs well with its richness
Other Desserts
- Shortbread Cookies – Buttery and slightly salty, they contrast the creamy fudge
- Cheesecake – Mini Egg Fudge makes a great topping or side for plain cheesecake
- Vanilla Ice Cream – Serve fudge pieces over ice cream for a cold, creamy combo
- Fruit Tarts – The tartness of berries balances the sweetness of the fudge
Savory Pairings
- Salted Nuts – Almonds, pecans, or cashews add crunch and a hint of saltiness
- Cheese Board – Pair with mild cheeses like brie or mascarpone for a sweet-salty contrast
- Pretzels or Popcorn – The saltiness and crunch complement the smooth fudge!
Recipe FAQs
Is This Fudge Gluten Free?
Yes, all of the ingredients in mini egg fudge should be gluten free, but you should always check the labels of your ingredients for potential cross-contamination. Cadbury mini eggs are generally gluten-free, but in certain regions, manufacturing processes can vary.
To ensure the fudge is completely safe, use a certified gluten-free brand of chocolate and mini eggs.
Can I Make This Recipe Using Milk Instead of Condensed Milk?
No, regular milk won’t work as a direct substitute for condensed milk. Condensed milk has a thicker, sweeter consistency that helps set the fudge properly.
Using regular milk would result in a runny, soft texture. You can use homemade or store bought condensed milk, or a dairy free alternative such as coconut condensed milk.
How to Fix Fudge That Doesn’t Set?
If your fudge is too soft or won’t firm up, first try refrigerating it longer in case it just needs a little extra time. If that fails you can re-melt it and add extra chocolate to help it firm.
Adding a little powdered sugar can also help absorb extra moisture. If all else fails, you can freeze it to solidify it, but it will get softer as it thaws.
Tips For the Best Mini Egg Fudge
- Only cook until the chocolate is fully melted. Milk chocolate in particular tends to seize and become grainy when overcooked. If this happens, you can add a small amount of coconut oil to try and return it to a smooth state
- I made this recipe using a 1000W microwave and my chocolate was ready after 1 minute. If you have a different wattage (or use a different kind of chocolate) then your times may vary slightly
- For best results when cutting, use a long, sharp knife (like a chef’s knife), and run the blade under hot water (then dry it) for smoother cuts. Make sure to press down firmly – don’t saw back and forth!

Storage Tips
- Fudge keeps well stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks, or up to 3 weeks if refrigerated
- For longer term storage, wrap individual pieces in plastic wrap, then add to a freezer bag and store 3-6 months in the freezer. Thaw overnight in the fridge before consuming
- Add sheets of wax paper or parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking in the storage container (or in a tin if gifting)
- Chocolate Bunny Drink
- Deviled Egg Jello Shots
