How To Mute Your Microwave? 5 Easy Methods
There are a few different things you can try to silence your microwave.
Not all microwaves function in the exact same way, and not every method will work with every microwave.
You might have to try a few (or even all!) of these tricks before you successfully mute your microwave.
If you’re concerned and want to play things safe, it’s always a good idea to check your microwave’s manual to see if there’s a specific method you need to use.

Method One: Press The Volume Button
This is by far the easiest way to silence your microwave.
If your model of microwave has a volume button (typically depicted as a speaker icon) you can press this to toggle the volume of your microwave on and off.
Some microwaves have multiple different volume levels that you have to cycle through to reach the mute setting, meaning you’ll have to press the button multiple times.
Press the volume button and then try pressing a different button; if there’s no noise from doing this, then you’ve successfully muted your microwave.
Most microwaves don’t have an explicit mute button, however, so chances are you won’t be able to use this easy trick.
Method Two: Check The Settings
While many microwaves don’t have a dedicated mute button, most have at least some form of settings menu.

Many models of microwaves will repeatedly beep after a short period to remind you that something’s inside, only stopping when the microwave door has been opened.
