Ingredients Needed

- 12 ounce bag semi sweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
- 12 ghost Peeps marshmallows
- 14 ounce box graham crackers, any flavor
- 36 mini chocolate chips, or similar (optional)
Ingredient Tips and Substitutions
- You can also use another kind of chocolate chip if desired – milk and dark chocolate are great options!
- Feel free to use another brand of ghost marshmallows besides Peeps (but the quantity you need may differ based on their size). You can use other designs too, like the pumpkin or monster Halloween Peeps to make different looks!
- The mini chocolate chips I use to replace the ghost eyes, since the already-drawn faces tend to melt off during cooking. This is entirely optional, though. You could also use icing, candy eyes, or similar to add the faces back on
- Graham crackers are the perfect dippers, but other delicious dipping options include pretzels, potato chips, gingersnap cookies, vanilla wafers, shortbread cookies, apple slices or strawberries for fruit options, or other bite-size party dippers (but then you lose the true “s’mores” combo)
- While you can add about ÂĽ cup heavy cream for a creamier consistency, I personally don’t find it necessary (but your call – pour cream in with the chips if you want)!

Equipment Needed
Besides the air fryer, you’ll need some sort of dish to make this hot s’mores dip recipe! I have a Dual Zone air fryer, so I use two smaller oval casserole dishes. If you have a single basket, feel free to use one larger dish instead.
Anything that is oven safe is also air fryer safe, so a cake pan, pie dish, casserole dish, small oven-proof skillet, au gratin dish, or really anything similar is a great option here depending on what fits!
Step By Step Instructions
- Spray your baking dish with nonstick spray, then sprinkle the chocolate chips across the bottom of your baking dish in a fairly even layer. If you are using two smaller dishes, split the chips evenly between them

- Top evenly with a single layer of ghost marshmallows. Loosely pack them. They’ll expand as they cook so a little space is fine, but you don’t want them so loose that they fly around

- Place the dish into your air fryer’s basket or rack, and cook on the air fry setting at 350°F for 5-7 minutes, or until the tops of the marshmallows are a toasty golden-brown (but are not burned)

- Add mini chips to replace the pre-made ghost faces if desired (optional) and serve with crispy graham crackers for dipping (I break the larger graham cracker sheets into 4 rectangles along the perforations) on a serving platter (or similar). Enjoy!

Recipe FAQs
Which Type of Chocolate Should I Use?
Semi-sweet chocolate chips are a popular choice because they melt smoothly and balance the sweetness of the marshmallows. You can also use milk chocolate for a classic s’mores flavor, dark chocolate if you prefer a richer, less sweet dip, or a chocolate mixture!
Can I Use Regular Marshmallows Instead of Peeps?
Yes! Regular large marshmallows are a perfectly fine substitute for Peeps. The ghost-shaped Peeps add a festive, spooky marshmallow touch for Halloween, but standard marshmallows (or other seasonal shapes) will toast and melt just as well.
How Can I Keep the Dip Warm During a Party?
To keep your dip warm, serve it in a heat-retaining dish like a cast iron skillet and place it party-style on a warming tray or in a slow cooker insert set to warm. Alternatively, you can pop it back in the air fryer or oven for a few minutes if it starts to cool and firm up.
What Else Can You Put in S’mores?
You can get creative with add-in components like peanut butter cups, caramel squares, Oreos, chopped candy bars, or flavored spreads like Nutella. For extra crunch, try layering graham cracker pieces, pretzels, or chopped nuts into this fun dessert dip.
Tips For the Best Ghost S’mores Dip
- The marshmallows will expand as they cook so make sure you don’t overfill your baking dish with them!
- I make this recipe in my Ninja air fryer and 7-8 minutes is usually perfect for me (without preheating). Other air fryers may vary slightly, so adjust as needed for your specific unit!

Make Ahead and Storage Tips
- You can assemble the ghost s’mores dip a few hours in advance by layering the chocolate and Peeps (or marshmallows) in your baking dish. Cover tightly and refrigerate until ready to cook
- Leftovers. Once cooled, cover leftovers tightly with foil or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Note that the texture of the marshmallows will change after refrigeration, but the dip will still taste great when reheated!
- Reheating. Warm up leftover dip in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes, or in a 300°F oven for 5–10 minutes until the chocolate is melty and the marshmallows are gooey again. Avoid microwaving, as it can unevenly melt the chocolate and make the marshmallows rubbery!

Final Thoughts
This easy ghost s’mores dip is definitely a treat (no trick here) that’s a perfect dessert for Halloween! Gooey, pillowy marshmallows give way to a warm chocolate center, all brought together by classic graham dippers.
Creamy, dreamy s’mores dip is kid-friendly, adult approved, and only requires a few ingredients and less than 10 minutes to make so it’s great for your last-minute Halloween bash. It’s one of my favorite seasonal snacks to serve, and always a crowd pleaser for guests too!
Thanks to the air fryer, there’s no campfire required to enjoy this Halloween spin on a classic marshmallow dip. Give it a try for your next Halloween party for a spooktacular finish!
