Why Make a Crown Royal Peach Tea

A Crown Royal peach tea is the perfect cocktail for summer. It’s just 2 required ingredients, which means that it’s easy, so you can kick back and relax that much faster!

The summery peach flavor is great for sipping poolside, enjoying at a backyard barbecue, or even sitting around a campfire. The great thing is, like many cocktails, you can swap in different types of ingredients to customize it perfectly to your tastes.

Now, Crown actually does make a Royal peach tea that they sell in a 4 pack of cans. I tried them and I think they’re pretty weak, lacking in peach flavor, and everyone in my house had a different opinion whether it was “too sweet” or “not sweet enough.”

Plus, at nearly $15 for a 4-pack, I knew I could do better! Making your own cocktail allows you to control the drink strength, amp up that peach flavor, modify the sweetness to your liking, and it ends up being cheaper too. You can’t go wrong!

Crown Royal Peach Tea Recipe Ingredients

ingredients to make crown royal peach tea
  • 2 ounces Crown Royal peach whisky
  • 6-8 ounces prepared iced tea (I use peach Snapple iced tea)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh peach, cut into slices (optional)

Ingredient Tips and Substitutions

  • Instead of peach Crown, you can also use plain whiskey or bourbon and add 1 ounce of peach nectar, peach puree, or peach syrup for flavor. Alternatively, use ½ ounce of peach schnapps or creme de peche, but that will also increase the strength of the drink
  • Feel free to substitute peach rum, vodka, or another spirit of choice if you don’t like whiskey – they work equally well!
  • The amount of iced tea you’ll need depending on the size of your glass and strength preferences
  • You can use any flavor of iced tea you like. I prefer to use peach iced tea to reinforce the peach flavor. However, plain, lemon, and sweet tea varieties also work great! For a lighter tea flavor, try Arizona green tea
  • If you want to reduce sweetness, use an unsweetened ice tea and then add simple syrup or honey to taste

Crown Royal Peach Tea Variations

Sparkling

Swap half of the iced tea for sparkling water, preferably peach flavor (but lemon works too) for a sparkling Crown Royal peach tea. This is another great way to reduce sweetness as well, so long as you use the unsweetened type of sparkling water.

You can also use a peach soda, but this will increase the sweetness levels, so I’d only do it if you were using unsweetened ice tea to balance.

Arnold Palmer

Use a 50/50 mix of iced tea and lemonade to make an Arnold Palmer Crown Royal peach tea.

I prefer to use peach tea here to offset the lemonade and reinforce the overall peach flavor (I think lemon tea is too strong along with lemonade).

Mixed Fruit

Muddle some fresh berries in the bottom of your glass before adding the other ingredients to make a mixed fruit cocktail. Raspberries are my favorite addition, for a Bellini inspired twist!

However, you can also use blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, or mango chunks.

Recipe Tips For the Best Crown Royal Peach Tea

  • Use some frozen peach slices in place of some of the ice to fill your glass. It adds color, flavor, and minimizes dilution for a tastier drink!
  • If you have time, freeze some iced tea (or lemonade) into ice cubes ahead of time and add them instead of regular ice to minimize dilution
  • The amount of iced tea you will need varies based on the size of your glasses, size of your ice cubes, and how strong you like your drink to taste. I use highball glasses with 1” cubes and 7 ounces of iced tea, and feel it’s about medium strength (but you can adjust for your personal preferences)!
