What is a Crown Peach Margarita?

A Crown peach margarita is a twist on the classic margarita cocktail. It still has a base of tequila, lime juice, and an orange liqueur like triple sec. However, tequila shares the spotlight with Crown Royal peach whisky for a fruity, summery twist!

You can serve it up on the rocks (like I am here), but also as a frozen blended concoction if you prefer.

I like to add some peach juice to reinforce the fruity flavor, but you can use other things like peach puree or syrup, or just skip it altogether and let the Crown provide the flavoring!

Whether you make it by the glass or the pitcher, this peach margarita is perfect for summer. Sip it poolside, at the beach, or serve it up at the backyard barbecue!

Crown Peach Margarita Ingredients

Ingredient Tips and Substitutions

  • You can also use peach schnapps in place of the Crown Royal peach. Feel free to use a peach-flavored tequila as well, such as 1800 brand

Recipe FAQs

Can I Use Store Bought Lime Juice?

Fresh lime juice is preferred for the best flavor, but you can use store bought bottled lime juice if needed.

Just make sure it’s 100% lime juice without any added sugars or preservatives.

Should I Use a Salt or Sugar Rim?

It depends on your preference. A salt rim provides a traditional margarita taste and balances the sweetness, while a sugar rim adds extra sweetness that complements the peach flavor.

I prefer the salt contrast with the peach for this particular margarita, but you can choose for your own tastes.

Can I Make a Frozen Crown Peach Margarita?

Yes, you can make a frozen Crown Peach Margarita by blending the ingredients with ice until smooth.

Start with about 1 cup of ice, and then adjust to achieve your desired consistency.

Can I Make a Non-Alcoholic Version?

Yes, you can create a mocktail version by omitting the alcohol. Use more peach juice or a peach-flavored sparkling water in place of the Crown and the tequila.

Use a non-alcoholic triple sec syrup, or substitute orange juice instead. The lime and peach juices can remain, and you can still adjust sweetness with agave or similar, if desired.

What Food Pairs Well with a Crown Peach Margarita?

Foods that pair well include Mexican dishes like tacos, nachos, and quesadillas.

The cocktail’s sweetness also complements spicy foods and grilled meats.

Crown Peach Margarita Recipe Tips

  • This peach margarita is medium strength as written, but you can add more alcohol (or less juice) if desired to make it stronger. Keep the liquors proportional to one another to preserve the flavor balance as you add more
  • To adjust the sweetness of the cocktail, add agave, simple syrup, or fresh peach puree for more sweetness. To reduce sweetness, add more lime juice, or lower the amount of added peach juice. As written, I find it pretty middle of the road and just lightly sweet

Storage and Serving Tips for Peach Margaritas

  • A margarita glass is the most common glassware option for serving. However, you can also use a mason jar, pint glass, or even a martini glass if you don’t have margarita glasses!
