I love fudge because it’s such a versatile sweet that can be flavored for nearly any season or occasion. This cranberry orange fudge is no exception, since it’s the perfect choice for Thanksgiving, fall, Christmas, and more. I make mine in the microwave for an easy preparation method!

What is Cranberry Orange Fudge?
Cranberry orange fudge is a rich, creamy dessert made by combining the flavors of tart cranberries and zesty orange with a base of sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate (or another chocolate if you prefer).
For this fudge, I use orange extract along with dried orange pieces and sweetened dried cranberries for the chewy texture and bursts of tart and citrus flavors. You can use orange zest as well, but I find it makes the chocolate seize more and be harder to work with.
I prepare my fudge with the help of the microwave! While I won’t call it “no fail” since I’m sure I can still screw it up somehow, I do find it much easier than a double boiler and cooking it on the stovetop, as it much more reliably comes out great!

Cranberry Orange Fudge Ingredients

- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp orange extract
- ¼ cup dried cranberries, such as Craisins (either sweetened or not)
- ¼ cup diced dried or candied oranges
Ingredient Tips and Substitutions
- You can use other types of chocolate if you want, but I find that white chocolate shows off the vibrant colors of the mix-ins the best!
- Instead of orange extract, you can also use about 1 Tbsp of fresh orange zest. As I noted above, though, this can cause your chocolate to seize up early and be difficult to pour and work with
- Add a pinch of salt if you like, which can help bring out the flavor of desserts even more!
Variations
- Boozy. Instead of the orange extract, use 2-3 Tbsp of an orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier to add flavor and a boozy twist!
- Nutty. Fold in ¼ cup of roasted, salted pistachios or walnuts with the cranberries and orange to make a nutty variation that adds a perfectly complimentary flavor with crunch!
How to Make Microwave Cranberry Orange Fudge
- Line an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper
- Add your white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk to a microwave safe bowl

- Cook on high in 1-minute intervals, stirring after each, until everything is smooth and the mixture reaches 235°F (about 6-7 minutes total in a 1000W microwave for me). Note: I’ve had trouble getting fudge to set if I don’t cook to this temperature, which is why I highly recommend checking it with a thermometer and making sure its hot enough

- Mix in the extract, cranberries, and dried orange pieces until well distributed

- Pour into your lined baking dish, and smooth out the top if needed

- Refrigerate at least 4 hours, but up to overnight, until completely set
- Cut into squares (1” or 2” is normal) and enjoy!

What to Serve With Cranberry Orange Fudge
Here are some delicious options to serve alongside cranberry orange fudge, which highlight its sweet, tart, and zesty flavors!
1. Cheese Board
A selection of mild cheeses, such as brie or goat cheese, pairs well with the citrus and cranberry notes in the fudge.
Adding some crackers and nuts (especially almonds or pecans) gives extra texture and flavor contrast. My Cranberry Walnut Baked Brie is a great choice!
2. Shortbread Cookies
The buttery richness of shortbread cookies complements the creamy fudge, while the subtle flavor of the cookies won’t overpower the cranberry-orange taste.
Try my Air Fryer Shortbread Cookies for a tasty option!
3. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate pieces or truffles offer a slightly bitter contrast that balances the sweetness of the fudge.
You could also do a drizzle of dark chocolate over the fudge, or serve with a dark chocolate hot cocoa too!
4. Citrus Sorbet
A refreshing orange or lemon sorbet can cleanse the palate between bites of the rich fudge, allowing the flavors to pop even more!
5. Roasted Nuts
Roasted or candied nuts, such as pecans or walnuts, bring a crunchy texture and complement the sweet-tart balance of the fudge.
You could even fold them into the fudge if you prefer! My homemade Air Fryer Honey Roasted Pecans are the perfect choice!
6. Coffee or Tea
A warm cup of coffee or a citrusy herbal tea pairs beautifully with cranberry orange fudge, as the warmth and slight bitterness of the drinks offset the sweetness.
For a boozy option, try my Crown Apple Hot Toddy!

Recipe Pro Tips For the Best Cranberry Orange Fudge
- My cooking times are based on a 1000W microwave. If you have a lower wattage, it will take longer, whereas a higher wattage may take less time, so adjust as needed for your personal setup
- I highly recommend a kitchen thermometer to check the temperature of your fudge, which ensures it will set for consistent results. It doesn’t have to specifically be a candy thermometer either – a meat or other kitchen thermometer that reaches at least 250°F will work!

Fudge Storage and Serving Tips
- Run your knife under hot water before cutting for cleaner edges!
- Store cranberry orange fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
Final Thoughts
This cranberry orange fudge is sweet, tart, and perfect for an easy treat! It looks great on the table for fall occasions, Thanksgiving, and even Christmas! Plus, since you can make it ahead, it’s ideal for low-stress entertaining options.
The microwave makes this recipe so simple, since there’s no boiling over a stove required. I find this method to be much more “no fail” as well, though you should still make sure you cook it enough so that it sets correctly (though unset fudge is a good ice cream topping)!
I love the combination of tart cranberries and citrusy oranges, and you can add in other things like nuts, zest, and flavored cranberries to make different variations customized for your personal tastes!
