Ingredients List

- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Orange gel food coloring
- Yellow gel food coloring
- Candy corn candies for decorating (optional)
Ingredient Tips and Substitutions
- You can substitute any flavor extract you like here (almond, rum, or even butter or honey extract if you want it to be more similar to real candy corn). You can also omit extract entirely and leave it plain white chocolate flavored
- Gel food colorings work best to give it the most vibrant color. You can use liquid, or substitute a natural option instead (but they will be less bold). Note that amounts needed vary between brands, so you may need to adjust slightly from mine. I use Wilton Color Right gel drops
- I like to add some actual candy corn to the top, but you can skip it if you don’t like them. You can always add some fun orange, yellow, and white Halloween sprinkles or non-pareils instead!
Step By Step Instructions
- Line an 8×8” square pan with parchment paper (nonstick foil or nonstick cooking spray are fine too)
- Add 1 cup of the white chocolate chips and one third the can of sweetened condensed milk (I truthfully just eyeball it but it’s about 4 ½ ounces if you want to measure) to a microwave-safe bowl

- Cook on high for 1 minute, stir, and then cook in additional 30-second increments if needed (1 minute is fine in my 1000W microwave), stirring after each, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth and slightly thickened

- Stir in ⅓ of the vanilla extract (I again eyeball it), a pinch of salt, and enough yellow gel food coloring to give you a vibrant yellow color (this can vary between brands of coloring; I use 5 drops here)

- Pour the fudge mixture into your prepared baking dish. Smooth with a spatula if needed to get it distributed fully across the base of the dish

- Wash your bowl out, then repeat the steps, this time using another ⅓ of the chocolate, condensed milk, extract, and a pinch of salt, plus the orange gel food coloring (again, colors can vary, but this is 7 drops for me). Pour this mixture on top of the yellow layer in your baking dish, and smooth the top

- Lastly, wash your bowl again (or use a different one) and repeat with the final third of the ingredients, and do not add any coloring. Add the white layer on top of the orange layer, and smooth. If you want to decorate with actual candy corn candies, add them to the top while the white layer is still warm, and press gently to adhere

- Cover and place in the refrigerator until set (about 3-4 hours), then remove from the pan and cut into 1” or 2” square pieces (depending on your preference) with a sharp knife. Enjoy!

Recipe FAQs
Can I Make This On The Stove Instead?
Yes! You can make candy corn fudge on the stovetop using a saucepan over low heat. Stir gently and frequently until the ingredients are melted and smooth, then continue with the recipe as directed.
What Is The Actual Flavor Of Candy Corn?
Candy corn is primarily sweet and sugary with mild vanilla, marshmallow, and buttery notes. Its flavor is more candy-like than strongly corn-flavored, despite the name.
Can I Swirl The Colors Instead Of Layering?
Absolutely! Instead of spreading each color into a separate layer, spoon or pour the different fudge colors into the pan in alternating sections. Then gently drag a toothpick or skewer through the colors in a swirling motion before the fudge sets, being careful not to overmix them.
Tips For the Best Candy Corn Fudge
- Cooking times can vary between microwave wattages and based on bowl size. I cooked each of my layers for 1 minute total in a 1000W microwave. Adjust as needed for your specific setup
- Work quickly when adding candy corn or other edible decorative elements to the top, as it starts to set up pretty fast and you want them to adhere. The same goes if you’re trying to swirl the colors instead of layering; you’ll want to be quick so they actually blend!

Storage and Serving
Storage Tips
- Store In An Airtight Container: Keep fudge in a tightly sealed container to prevent it from drying out or absorbing other flavors
- Use Parchment Between Layers: Place parchment paper between pieces if stacking to prevent them from sticking together
- Keep It Cool And Dry: Store at cool room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat for the best texture
- Refrigerate If Needed: If your kitchen is warm, refrigerate the fudge in an airtight container and let it come to room temperature before serving
- Freeze For Longer Storage: Wrap pieces tightly and place them in a freezer-safe container for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator, then bring to room temperature before serving. Note this can cause candies on top to crack, though
Serving Tips
- Cut Into Small Pieces: Fudge is rich and sweet, so bite-sized squares are ideal for parties and dessert trays!
- Add To A Halloween Dessert Table: Arrange pieces alongside other festive treats for an easy seasonal display
- Package For Gifting: Place pieces in small treat bags, tins, or boxes lined with parchment for a fun homemade gift
- Candy Corn Martini
Final Thoughts
Candy corn fudge is such a fun treat, perfect for Halloween and the fall season in general! It’s no bake, made easily in your microwave or on the stovetop if you prefer, and great for making ahead so you can stress less about your party planning.
I make mine vanilla flavored, but it’s super customizable so you can use what you like. Don’t worry candy corn haters, you can skip the decorative candies on top and use sprinkles instead (and the fudge itself doesn’t taste like candy corn at all).
It’s an eye-catching and crowd-pleasing option for your dessert table, and makes a great gift as well when packed in small cello bags or wrappers. For more great easy options for your party, check out all of my No Bake Halloween Treats for inspiration!
