Ingredients List

- 1 graham cracker (broken in half crosswise)
- 1 marshmallow (regular, jumbo, or the square s’more Jet-Puffed)
- 1 square milk chocolate (broken to fit one half the graham cracker)
Ingredient Tips and Substitutions
- You can make as many s’mores at a time as fit in your air fryer’s basket (I can make 4 at a time in my 8-qt, but air fryer baskets will vary in size) in a single layer, with no change to cooking time. Simply scale the ingredients according to desired servings
- Instead of graham crackers, try stroopwafels, shortbread cookies, or similar
- Try flavored or stuffed marshmallows for fun flavor twists. I do not recommend mini marshmallows, as they tend to get blown around and make a mess (though your experience may vary with a different air fryer)
- Milk chocolate like Hershey’s is a classic choice. You can also try dark chocolate, white chocolate, or chocolate chips (though I don’t recommend air frying the chips; add them only to the hot marshmallow). Get creative with peanut butter cups, caramel chocolate squares, add ins like sliced bananas or strawberries, or even some cooked bacon!
Step By Step Instructions
- Place one half of a graham cracker in your air fryer, and add the marshmallow on top of it (if you’re using round marshmallows, cut a little bit off the bottom so it’s sticky, which helps it adhere to the cracker better)

- Air fry at 400°F for 2-3 minutes, until the marshmallow puffs and starts to brown
- Add in the other half of the graham cracker and top it with the piece of chocolate. Air fry for an additional 1 minute to soften the chocolate (optional; only if you want really melted chocolate)

- Carefully remove both halves (I use a spatula). Press both halves together (fillings towards the inside). Allow them to cool slightly (the marshmallows will be hot) and enjoy!

Recipe FAQs
Can I Put Marshmallows In The Air Fryer?
Yes! Marshmallows toast beautifully in the air fryer, becoming golden on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. Just keep a close eye on them since they can brown very quickly.
What Is The Best Chocolate For Air Fryer S’Mores?
Classic milk chocolate bars are the traditional choice because they melt easily and have the perfect sweetness. You can also use dark chocolate, cookies and cream bars, peanut butter cups, or caramel-filled chocolate for a fun twist.
Are Jumbo Marshmallows Better For S’Mores?
Regular large marshmallows are usually the best choice because they fit graham crackers nicely and melt evenly. Jumbo marshmallows can be used if you prefer an extra gooey s’more, but they may require a little more time to toast and can be messier to eat.
Tips For the Best Air Fryer S’mores
- I do not preheat my air fryer for this recipe. If you make multiple batches (and therefore start with a hotter basket), you can reduce cooking time by 1-2 minutes usually (just keep an eye on the marshmallows so they don’t overbrown)
- If your marshmallows are blowing around, make sure to cut them and press the sticky side of the marshmallow halves into the graham cracker to help them adhere. If they shift slightly, gently push them back onto the cracker with a spatula (they’ll still be delicious)!

Storage and Reheating
Storage Tips
- Air fryer s’mores are best enjoyed immediately while the marshmallows are warm and gooey
- If you have leftovers, let them cool completely before storing them in an airtight container
- Refrigerate for up to 2 days. The graham crackers will soften over time, but they’ll still be tasty
- Separate layers with parchment paper if stacking to prevent sticking.
Reheating Tips
- Air fryer (best method): Reheat at 300°F for 1-2 minutes just until the marshmallow softens and the chocolate begins to melt
- Microwave: Heat for 5-10 seconds for a quick fix, being careful not to overheat the marshmallow
- Avoid reheating too long, as the marshmallow can expand quickly and become overly sticky
- For the best texture, consider making a fresh batch instead; they only take a few minutes!
Make Ahead Tip
If you’re serving a crowd, prep the graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows ahead of time. Then simply pop them in the air fryer in batches so everyone gets warm, freshly made s’mores!

Final Thoughts
These air fryer s’mores offer a modern twist on the classic campfire treat! They’re quick, easy, and don’t involve any fires or sticks at all, and are ready in even less time with a perfectly golden marshmallow.
S’mores made in the air fryer are great for satisfying a quick sweet craving, adding nostalgia to your dessert board, or just enjoying the classic when you get rained out from the bonfire. I also love to customize them, using peanut butter cups or caramel squares for a grown up version!
